How to use it

  1. Open a Google Sheet, then Extensions → StatementSheet → Convert bank statement PDF.
  2. Choose one or more statement PDFs downloaded from your bank's website.
  3. Check each file's verdict, choose Each statement in its own new tab or Merge into one “Transactions” tab, and press Write to sheet.

What the verdict means

VerdictMeaningWhat to do
Balanced ✓Opening balance plus all transactions equals the closing balance printed on the statement.Spot-check a few rows as usual.
Off by $XThe rows don't add up to the closing balance. A row was probably missed or misread.Compare against the PDF before relying on it. Writing it is free and doesn't count toward your free statements. Email us the bank name (not the file) so we can fix the layout.
Can't verifyThe statement doesn't print an opening and closing balance we could find.Check totals by hand. Free, doesn't count.
